A jinni asking a person to put a Mus-haf in a mosque

Question:

Salaam, If with no any previous contact, experience and/or reason, a muslim jinn (Spirit) requested that a Holy Qur'an should be offered to any Jumu'at Masjid on the Friday as Sadaqah. Should that offering be made? PLEASE, GIVE ME A VERY SOUND AND PRECISE FATWA. Ma'Assalam.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

A person is not obliged to obey a jinni if he orders him to put a Mus-haf (i.e. the Arabic text of the Quran) in the mosque. Rather, what a person is obliged to do is to obey Allaah and His Messenger sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) and neither of them ordained a human being to obey the jinn. However, it is permissible for a person to put a Mushaf with the intention of getting closer to Allaah and obeying Him, but not with the intention of getting closer to the jinn and obeying them. Putting the Mus-haf in the mosque is a good act and obeying whoever asks one to do so is cooperating in righteousness and piety. Nonetheless, one should avoid dealing with the jinn and obeying them, as they may gradually lead him to what Allaah has forbidden, like magic, fortunetelling and other prohibited matters which are things that are usually committed by people who deal with jinn.

Allaah Knows best.
