All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
In principle an ‘Aqeeqah is religiously required from the person who is obliged to spend on the new-born baby. If another person performs the ‘Aqeeqah without the permission of the person who is obliged to spend on the baby, then it is not sufficient and acceptable according to the view of some jurists . However, some other jurists are of the view that the ‘Aqeeqah is sufficient and acceptable if it is performed for the new-born baby regardless of the person who performs it.
Therefore, if the grandparents of this baby perform the ‘Aqeeqah on the baby from their own money with your permission, it is sufficient and acceptable, Allaah willing.
