All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
According to the view of the majority of the scholars the additional Takbeers (saying Allaahu Akbar) in ‘Eed prayer are desirable and not obligatory. Therefore, if the Imaam does not say them deliberately or out of forgetfulness then his prayer is correct and not void as stated by the jurists .
If the Imaam forgets them out of forgetfulness, he should not prostrate for forgetfulness, but according to a narration from the Hanbali School of jurisprudence, he should prostrate for forgetfulness.
Allaah Knows best.
