The story of Ghadeer khum

Question:

i heard some thing about history of hajjat-al-vedae in ghadir khom ( the rasul allah's last hajj) plz tell me about that day, what is the hadith in that day? what happend in rasul(S)'s last hajj?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

 

It is confirmed that when the Prophet came back from the Farewell Pilgrimage, he descended in Ghadeer Khum and he advised the people to hold fast to the Book of Allaah and then he said: ''Allaah is my Wali (Protector and Helper) and I am the Wali of every believer, then he held ‘Ali in his hand and said: Whoever considers me as his Wali, then this (‘Ali) is his Wali as well, O Allaah be a Wali for whoever considers ‘Ali as a Wali, and be an enemy to whomever considers him as an enemy….’’[Ahmad and An-Nasaa’i]

Ghadeer Khum is a place at Al-Juhfah between Makkah and Madeenah, and it is close to the town of Raabigh which is 15 km far from it. Hence, Ghadeer Khum is at a distance of 160 km from Makkah.

The term Wilaayah means love and support, so whoever loves the Prophet and supports him, he should love and support ‘Ali as well. Every Muslim male and female shares this merit with ‘Ali because Allaah The Almighty is a Wali for the believers and the Prophet is a Wali for the believers as well, as Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):

·        {And Allaah is the ally of the believers.} [Quran 3:68]

·        {Allaah is the ally of those who believe.} [Quran 2:257]

·        {Your ally is none but Allaah and [therefore] His Messenger and those who have believed — those who establish prayer and give Zakah, and they bow [in worship].} [Quran 5:55]

Moreover, a Qudsi Hadeeth (sacred narration) reads: “Whoever shows enmity towards my Wali, then I have declared war against him.”
