All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
The conclusive opinion about this issue, which is mentioned in the Noble Quran, is that Allaah The Almighty raised ‘Eesa (Jesus) to heaven. However, we could not find any text specifying which heaven he was raised to. In the Hadeeth of Al-Israa’ (Prophet’s night journey to Jerusalem), the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, saw ‘Eesa in the second heaven. Nevertheless, it is not necessary that this heaven was the one to which ‘Eesa was raised.
In fact, no other prophet was reported to have been raised to heaven, like ‘Eesa but there is a Hadeeth, which scholars classified as weak, stating that Idrees (Enoch) was raised alive to heaven. For further information, refer to Fatwa 87455.
Also, there is no conclusive text showing the age at which ‘Eesa will descend to earth. Al-Qurtubi reported that some scholars said that he would descend at the age of thirty-three.
Allaah Knows best.
