Predetermination before a person is created

Question:

Is the woman one is meant to marry predetermined before his creation?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallaallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.

 

Ahl As-Sunnah people (the mainstream people of the Sunnah) believe that whatever occurs to a person such as his sustenance, health, marriage, and any other worldly matters, is predetermined and takes place according to the will of Allaah The Almighty. Sustenance, marriage, and other worldly matters have all been predetermined by Allaah The Almighty. The fact that everything is predetermined does not contradict man’s freedom of choice, as man has free will and ability, but everything is dependent on the will of Allaah The Almighty.
