Question:

Assalamu Alaikum
My husband had some saving in our account. He told me to use some of it for a business. I ended up using more then what he told me for the business and our needs.
Most of the money is invested in the business now which is a family business.
My husband is still very upset and does not want to forgive me. I know that what I did was wrong.
How can I ask for forgiveness from God Subhanahu wa taala?
Can you help me with some words that will help my husband forgive me?
Thank you, I will wait for you answer.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

There is no doubt that you are wrong by disposing of the money of your husband in a manner other than that permitted by him. Therefore, you should sincerely repent to Allaah; for more benefit on the conditions of repentance, please refer to Fatwa 87903.

Moreover, you should continue to ask your husband to forgive you and be merciful to you. You should choose the appropriate times to influence him, and you may tell him that you disposed of his money believing that he would be pleased with what you did and that you did so out of being careful for his benefit. Better than all this is to remind him about the religious texts in the Quran and the Sunnah about the excellence of forgiving and tolerance. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 84351.

Allaah Knows best.
