All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We have already issued Fataawa 31218 and 15169 clarifying that the means of Da’wah should be in accordance with Islam and meet the requirements of Sharee'ah. We have already clarified in Fatwa 84281 that mixing between men and women is of two kinds:
a) When there is no separation between men and women, and this is forbidden without doubt. Mixing in this manner cannot be justified by being for the sake of Da’wah or any other religious objective; as the end does not justify the means.
b) When there is a separation between men and women, in a way that the men and women are separate from each other.
As regards the demonstrations and trips, they are permissible if they are for a valid purpose and do not lead to any religious prohibition, like the forbidden mixing, or what you mentioned in the question like music or women travelling in a trip without a Mahram and the like. For more benefit on the ruling on music, please refer to Fataawa 91239 and 81545.
In any case, if those brothers and sisters commit any religious prohibition, then you should advise them in a soft and gentle manner and out of mercy for them. If they respond, then this is what is required, otherwise you would have done your duty.
Also, they should not be angry with the person who advises them out of mercy for them, as he wishes good for them, and rather he should be thanked instead.
Allaah Knows best.
