It is obligatory to rewash the deceased when death comes

Question:

If we washed a corpse, offered the funeral prayer on him and then, while burying him, we discover that he is still alive for some time and then dies in the grave, is. it obligatory to rewash him and offer the funeral prayer again?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.

 

The washing and offering of prayer were misplaced as he was still alive. Therefore, it is obligatory to perform them when the death is realized.

We draw attention that it is compulsory to make sure that the individual is really dead before considering him deceased, especially if he drowned or is afflicted with epilepsy.
