Celebrating anniversary of buying a house or return of estranged husband

Question:

Assalamu alaikum warahmatullah. I take orders and make cake for people. Now a friend wants me to make a cake for an occasion where her friends and family are celebrating for having bought their house one year ago and celebrating her husband moving to her many years ago. Is it halal for me to make cakea for such celebrations?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

It is permissible – Allaah willing – to make a cake for what you mentioned, as it is permissible for a woman to celebrate the coming of her husband after a long absence and the same applies to the passing of one year after buying a house.
