Question:

I wear the Hijaab—praise be to Allaah. However, some hairs may unintentionally come out. Will I be held accountable for that? Please, answer. May Allaah reward you.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There is no blame on you regarding the hair that unintentionally appears from you. However, you have to hasten to immediately cover them when you know that they have come out. Allaah Almighty says (what means): {And there is no blame upon you for that in which you have erred but [only for] what your hearts intended.} [Quran 33: 5]

The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: "Allaah has forgiven my community for the things that they do by mistake, out of forgetfulness, and under coercion." [Ibn Maajah and others; Al-Albani: authentic]

However, if you are negligent in covering your hair or any part of your ‘Awrah (what should be covered of one's body in front of permanently unmarriageable kin), then you will surely be held accountable for that. That is because uncovering these body parts is one of the prohibited matters and Allaah Almighty says (what means):

•        {... Whoever does a wrong will be recompensed for it...} [Quran 4: 123]

•        {Whoever does an evil deed will not be recompensed except by the like thereof.} [Quran 40: 40]

Allaah Knows best.
