All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
The Prophet Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, informed us by revelation from Allaah that the Dajjaal will be killed at the hands of ‘Eesa (Jesus), son of Mary, at the gate of Ludd, which is a mountain in the Levant. An-Nawwaas ibn Sam‘aan narrated that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “Then ‘Eesa (Jesus) will descend in the eastern part of Damascus, near the white minaret (tower), and he will go in pursuit of the Dajjaal, and he will reach him at the gate of Ludd and kill him.” [Abu Daawood]
This knowledge about the Dajjaal's place of death does not contradict the verse in which Allaah says (what means): {…and no soul perceives in what land it will die…} [Quran 31:34] This verse denies that anyone other than Allaah knows the Unseen, and therefore Allaah called these five things (mentioned in the verse) the keys of the Unseen which no one knows but Allaah. If anyone knows any of these matters with certainty, then it is due to Allaah informing His creatures about it, as Allaah says (what means): {He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone. Except whom He has approved of messengers, and indeed, He sends before each messenger and behind him observers.} [Quran 72:26-27]
Thus, the knowledge about the Dajjaal's place of death was obtained by revelation.
Just because the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, informed us about the Dajjaal's place of death, it does not necessarily follow that the Dajjaal knows it. Even if we assumed that the Dajjaal knows it, he would not know it because he knows the Unseen, but because those who learned this from the revelation told him.
If this were problematic, then our knowledge about the place of his death would also be problematic. Al-Haafith Al-‘Iraaqi said: “The Prophets may know many matters of the Unseen because Allaah informed them about them, and Allaah may also reveals some matters of the Unseen to His allies by placing it in their consciousness, as the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: "Among the communities before you were people who were inspired although they were not Prophets, and if there is any such people among this community, it is ‘Umar.
Also, Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq said regarding the pregnancy of his wife bint Khaarijah: "I believe it will be a girl." However, this does not consist in knowing the unseen. For the Prophets, it is knowledge about a specific matter in a specific sequence of events, and for the allies of Allaah, it is a belief by correct intuition. So if this happens to someone on a particular occasion or on a number of occasions, it cannot be said that he knows the Unseen. In fact, someone who is not an ally of Allaah could know that a fetus will be a male or a female from observation. However, they could be mistaken and what was predicted may not happen. Real knowledge belongs to Allaah. Some scholars said that the intent of the verse is to falsify the sayings of the magicians and astrologers and those who predict the rainfall by observing the setting of the stars.” [Tarh At-Tathreeb]
Allaah Knows best.
