Woman working at home to earn living

Question:

Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, Shaykh. Is it permissible to sell items at home and earn money? I am asking as I learned that in order to have a shop and sell items, one needs to get a permit from the government, and then one can open a shop and sell things. Hence, would it be sinful on me, being a woman (for whom staying at home is best), to sell items at home or give classes to children or stitch clothes at home and earn money? Or do I need to ask the government regarding this and get their permission? I do not know whether according to the country's laws this is right or not. Please advise, Shaykh. May Allaah reward you.

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

In principle, this is permissible and not forbidden, so there is nothing wrong in doing what you mentioned at home.
