All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
This Hadeeth was reported by at-Tirmithi in al-Jaami’ and by other scholars of Hadeeth.
At-Tirmithi said: “It is a Ghareeb Hadeeth.”
The scholars differed in opinion concerning the ruling on it. Shu'ayb al-Arna’oot classified its chain of narrators as weak when reviewing the book Jaami’ At-Tirmithi. However, al-Albaani classified it as Hassan due to the existence of other Ahadeeth with the same meaning (by other narrators) in his book as-Silsilah as-Saheehah and his other books.
Ath-thiyaa’ al-Maqdissi classified it as Saheeh. This is mentioned by as-Suyooti in al-La-aali al-Masnoo’ah.
Ghareeb Hadeeth: Means a Hadeeth narrated by only one narrator at any stage of its chain of narrators.
Allah knows best.
