All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Invoking Allah by virtue of good deeds, such as reciting the Quran in order to bring goodness and repel evil is lawful. The evidence for this is the Hadeeth of the three people who were trapped in a cave and could not get out of it, so they invoked to Allah by virtue of their good deeds so that Allah would make a way out for them.
Therefore, there is nothing wrong if anyone invokes Allah by mentioning Allah, or reciting the Quran as a way of seeking to increase their provision and the like.
However, believing that Chapter Yaseen in particular has an effect in this matter is a wrong belief that has no confirmed evidence in the Sharee'ah as far as we know. Therefore, it is feared that allocating Chapter Ya Seen to this issue case is an additional innovation (Bid'ah).
Therefore, one should not single out the recitation of Chapter Ya Seen. However, there is nothing wrong with invoking Allah by the virute of a good deed in itself, such as by reciting the Quran, giving charity, fasting, and so forth.
