What was the mission or task of the Messiah?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

The Message of ‘Eesa (Jesus) is the same Message with which Allah sent all other Prophets and Messengers, which is to call people to worship Allah Alone without associating any partners with Him. Allah Says (what means):

·   {And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, "There is no deity except Me, so worship Me."} [Quran 21:25]

·   {And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, [saying], "Worship Allah and avoid Taghut."} [Quran 16:36]

Allah informed us in His Book (The Quran) that Jesus, the son of Mary, called to the worship of Allah Alone. Allah Says (what means): {…while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.} [Quran 5:72]

Also, Jesus said that he only told people what Allah commanded him to convey; Allah Says (what means): {I said not to them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord.} [Quran 5:72] This is the Message that Allah Commanded him to convey to the people.
