Wants to Rent a House from His Father Who Purchased It with a Riba-based Loan

Question:

My dad purchased a home on a riba based loan. Is it halal for me to rent it from him for a set price and pay him monthly for it? without interest? Since the house is technically still under the Riba loan and the money I am giving him for rent may be used to pay it off?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.

There is nothing wrong with renting the house from your father and dealing with him in permissible transactions related to it (the house). The fact that he had bought the house with an interest-based loan has not affect on that (the permissibility of renting) because what is prohibited is the interest-based loan he borrowed and not what he used it for (the house he bought).
