Question:
As salam alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, i have got a question concerning the invalidation of Salat when two letters are articulated: I have recently learned how to pronounce Al-Fatiha correctly. I strive very hard to pronounce it correctly that i repeat some words until I am sure that I have done so. But this leads to the situation that i get out of breath and so I start breathing to have enough breath for continuing my recitation. But when I breath, for me it sounds like two letters are articulated and there have been some situations where I was sure that two letteres were articulated. So I start sometimes my Salat over and over again and I try to breath short so that two letters aren't articulated while I actually need more breath for reciting properly. Is my Salat valid? In another Fatwa it was mentioned that loud breathing invalidates the salah. What is exactly considered as loud breathing? And I also have a lot of saliva during prayer which I swallow. When two letters are articulated does this invalidate the Salat?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
We ask Allah, The Exalted, to guide you to what is best for you and to bless you with success. You should know that whisperings are a door to a grave evil and that giving in to them leads to serious harm. Therefore, you should ignore such whisperings and lock the door to them. So recite Al-Faatihah only once and do not repeat any verse no matter how many times Satan whispers to you that you did not recite it correctly. Do not repeat the Prayer either, regardless of the whisperings that you may experience. Rather, perform the Prayer once, and your Prayer is valid without a doubt. Also, breathing does not invalidate the prayer, and it is also not invalidated by what you imagine of articulating two letters; these are mere illusions that have no grounds in reality.
Allah Knows best.
