All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible to place forbidden pictures, such as pictures of women who are not decently dressed, even if it is for the purpose of advertising for something permissible, such as medicine or hair oil, etc. Because placing such pictures is helping to see what Allah has forbidden to see.
Allah Says (what means): {Help you one another in virtue, righteousness and piety but do not help one another in sin and transgression. And fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Severe in punishment.} [Quran 5:2]
A Muslim will not lack the permissible means to advertise for those lawful products without the need to resort to images of women.
Indeed, we have mentioned in previous Fataawa in the Arabic Section that these images, although they are widespread and it is difficult to avoid them, they should be obliterated, or that one should blur the woman’s face and her adornment in a way that her details (body and shape) are hidden and not seen.
For more benefit on selling or promoting goods through photos of indecently-dressed women, please refer to Fataawa 234706, 92037, and 96555.
Allah knows best.
