Zodiac/Star Sign Appears on Profile on His Application

Question:

السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ There’s an app called Snapchat which I use to speak to friends and share reminders. The issue is they included a feature where you have a zodiac/star sign assigned to your profile. I’ve hid it from my friends, but I still see it myself on my profile. Is it haram to use this app?
Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

We do not see anything wrong with using that application in permissible matters. This app should not be prohibited just because those symbols appear on your profile as long as you do not pay attention to them and do not search for them. If we prohibit the use of permissible applications just because something forbidden appears on the page, we would prohibit the use of all programs and all Internet pages. Unfortunately, the existence of such things in those applications is common, and it is too difficult to avoid them. You did your best by hiding it from your friends; it is quite enough.
