All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
These discharges from the eyes are pure and do not render impure the body or garment that is stained by them, and they do not invalidate ablution when they are emitted.
We do not know any scholars who has ever said that the discharges emitted from the eyes are impure. But if these discharges are too much to an extent that they prevent water from reaching what is beneath them from the face, then it is an obligation to remove them.
An-Nawawi said:
“The discharges of the eyes should be washed without any difference of opinion. If they have any dirt that prevents water from reaching the place that must be washed from the face, then it must be wiped out and what is under it must be washed, otherwise whipping them out is desirable.” [End of quote]
Allah knows best.
