All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Allaah The Almighty Honored the people of Paradise by Giving them whatever meat and other things they like. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
· {And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you request [or wish]} [Quran 41:31]
· {Circulated among them will be plates and vessels of gold. And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes, and you will abide therein eternally.} [Quran 43:71]
In some verses, Allaah The Almighty Has Mentioned that He Will Honor them with meat without Specifying the kind of meat. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {And We Will Provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.} [Quran 52:22]. However, this verse mentioned the meat of fowl.
Ibn ‘Aashoor said in explaining this verse, “The meat of the fowl is the best and the most desired kind of meat, and thus, this may be the reason behind mentioning it specifically in this verse.”
It was proven by some Hadeeths that there will be sheep in Paradise: “Sheep are among the animals of Paradise.” [Ibn Maajah; Al-Albaani: Saheeh]
Al-Munaawi, in explaining this Hadeeth, said, “Paradise has sheep. It was proven in both Saheehs that they (people of Paradise) will eat the meat of cows and fish. It was narrated on the authority of Abu Sa‘eed Al-Khudri that the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said: “‘The earth will be like a single piece of bread on the Day of Judgment, and Al-Jabbaar ( The Compeller) Will Turn it with His Hand like anyone of you turns his bread with his hand while on a journey, and that bread will be the entertainment for the people of Paradise.’ A man from the Jews came (to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and said, ‘May The Most Merciful (Allaah) Bless you, O Abu Al-Qaasim! Shall I tell you of what they shall eat with the bread?’ The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, said, ‘Yes.’ The Jew said, ‘That will be Balam and Noon.’ The people asked, ‘What is that?’ He said, ‘It is the ox and a fish, and seventy thousand people will eat of the caudate lobe (i.e. extra lobe) of their livers.’” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
An-Nawawi said, “As for the Noon, scholars agreed unanimously that it is the whale. As for the Balam, it is a Hebrew word which means ox.”
Ibn Qutaybah said, “As long as there will be meat in Paradise, then there will be goats and sheep. Furthermore, as long as there will be edible fowls, then there will be edible livestock.”
Allaah Knows best.
