All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. Allaah The Almighty created this worldly life and made it an abode for tests and trials. He Says (what means): {[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed --} [Quran 67:2] The happy person is he who obeys and responds to Allaah The Almighty and the wretched person is he who deprives himself of this. We ask Allaah The Almighty to protect us all from that. Thus, it becomes clear that Allaah The Almighty did not create this life and all it contains without purpose or in jest, rather, He created it for a wise reason. The most important and obvious aspect of this is to test us so that He rewards the good doer and punishes the evildoer. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means): {Then will We treat the Muslims like the criminals? What is [the matter] with you? How do you judge?} [Quran 68:35-36] Therefore, a person has to obey and surrender to the command of His Lord and Creator Who knows him more than he knows himself. Moreover, a person has to recognize that his obedience to Allaah The Almighty benefits him alone and that his disobedience harms him alone: neither obedience nor disobedience benefit or harm Allaah The Almighty. |
