Question:

Isn't it excessive spending (Esraf) to have two big Internet sites for Islam provided from two different offices in the same building and spending more than 5 millions QR per year where "dawa" through the Internet has less results than direct action and contact, especially with the non-Muslims living and coming every day to Qatar?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and  Messenger.

Internet sites provide many useful services for Muslims anywhere in the world. So, they should be multiplied, encouraged and those who feed them should be thanked and motivated. The two sites mentioned in your question do not only give Fatwa, but they also include the Quran, its Tafsir (explanation), the Noble Hadith, encyclopedias, the Islamic library and many useful articles. These are all very important for any Muslim anywhere. No doubt that Fatwa to Muslim’s questions from all over the world requires many more sites. In addition, if one looks at the various sites reserved for perversive actions, one should be very delighted to see the propagation of Islamic sites. And this has nothing to do with Esraf excessive expenditure till there are enough sites to fulfill all Muslims need.

Allah knows best.
