All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
If you mean by your question the linguistic meaning of Maariyah, it is not an Arabic name, so we do not know its meaning. But if you are asking about who Maariyah was, she was a female slave given by Al-Muqawqis, the king of Alexandria, to the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. The Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, kept her as Jaariyah (a female slave kept as a wife). She was the mother of his son Ibraaheem, who died in his early age. She lived after the death of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and died in the era of Caliph ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattab .
Allaah Knows best.
