All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
It is lawful for the woman to wear any kind of jewelry and ornaments of silver, gold or others. The evidence for this is the Hadeeth reported by Ahmad, Abu Daawood and an-Nasaai from ‘Ali Ibn Abu Taalibm that “The Prophet took some silk in his right hand and some gold in his left hand and said: “These two are forbidden to the males of my Ummah.” Ibn Maajah added, ‘lawful to their females.’
So, this means that the woman is allowed to pierce her ear, nose or the parts that are generally used for adornment to put on them jewels. As for the covered parts like the stomach, the knee and the like, then it is unlawful to pierce them, as this is a sort of imitation of the disbelieving and dissolute women. We point out here that it is forbidden for men to put any kind of jewelry apart from a silver ring as the Prophet did.
Allah knows best.
