Question:

Is it permissible for Muslim men to marry their grandmother's sisters' daughters and grandmother's brothers' daughters?

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ) is His slave and Messenger.

Marrying the daughters of the sisters or brothers of the grandmother is permissible. Even marrying those who are nearer in relationship than the mentioned relatives is also permissible such as marrying the daughters of the sisters or brothers of the mother. Since they are considered maternal or paternal cousins. Allah Says (what means): {O Prophet, indeed We have made lawful to you your wives to whom you have given their due compensation and those your right hand possesses from what Allah has returned to you [of captives] and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your paternal aunts and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the daughters of your maternal aunts…} [Quran 33: 50]

Those who are forbidden due to the lineage are mentioned in the verse in which Allah Says (what means): {And marry not women whom your fathers married, except what has already passed…} [Quran 4: 22]. Allah Says (what means): {…All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage)…} [Quran 4: 24]

Allah knows best.
