Question:
This is the 21st century and all the signs before Judgement Day have appeared but it is very sad to say that the Muslims are still in the darkness and they are asleep. Tell me what should the few perfect Muslims do now a days?
Answer:
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds; and may His blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon all his Family and Companions.
Know that whoever wants to serve Islam should carry out his Islamic obligations. The Muslim's obligations are four:
Ibn Al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said, 'Know that there are four things that we must learn.
1. Knowledge, which is knowing Allah, knowing His Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) and understanding the religion of Islam with its proofs.
2. Acting in compliance with that knowledge.
3. Calling others to it.
4. Enduring whatever harm that comes in the course of its execution. The evidence of this is the Saying of Allah {By Al-'Asr (the time). Verily! Man is in loss, Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth [i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allâh has forbidden], and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allâh's Cause during preaching His religion of Islâmic Monotheism or Jihâd, etc.).}[103: 1-3]' .
Imam Al-Shafie said, 'If Allah had not revealed any other proof to His creatures but this Surah, it would have been enough for them' .
If you have identified what you should learn of the religion of Islam and what you should put into practice, you should then call others to it with wisdom and sure knowledge. You are therefore advised to move on in this path, steadily and patiently.
Allah knows best.
