Question:
I want to know authenticity of following Ahadith: 1) Umar (Radiya Allahu Anhu) narrated that Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) taught this Du'a: Allahum-maj 'Al-Sarrerati Khayram Min 'Ala Niyati Waj 'al 'Ala Niyati Saliha - Allahumma Inni Asaluka Min Salihi Ma Tu'tin Nasa Min al-Ahli Wal Mali Wal Waladi Gayzidh Dhali Wal al-mudhilli. (At-Tirmidhi) 2) Umm-e-Ma'bad (Radiya Allahu Anha) narrated that she heard Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) making this Du'a: 'Allahumma Tahhir Qalbi Minan Nifaqi Wa 'Amali Min ar-Riyaai Wa Lisani Minal Kadhibi Wa 'Aynee Minal Khiyanati Fa Innaka Ta'lamu Kha Inatal A'yuni Wa Ma Tukhfis Sudoor'. (Baihaqi)
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Shaykh Al-Albaani is of the view that both Ahadeeth are weak. He graded the first Hadeeth as weak in his study of Sunan At-Tirmidhi. The number of this Hadeeth in the collection of weak Ahadeeth of al-Jaami' as-Sagheer is 4097.
As for the second Hadeeth, its number is 1209.
Allah knows best.
