Question:
I am married for 3-years to my cousin and have a son of 1 year usually myself and my wife has arguments very often but we love each other too much recently I was very angry to her and she was behaving very rude to me and in angry she broke my mobile and I told her to buy me mobile in half hour or I will leave her and I repeat the work I will leave you if you don't respect but I did but I did not use the work Talaaq not even a single time and after an hour we were cool and she was sorry to me for her mistake and we forgive each other. My question is that the sentence I told her will nullify our marriage? Because don't tell her Talaaq even one time so she say we are still in marriage and since then we are in bed together as before, are we doing any sin leaving together?
Answer:
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Saying to your wife, "I am going to leave you," does not entail divorcing her even if you intended to divorce her, as this is a promise of divorce and a promise to divorce is not considered a divorce. However, you should be wary about solving any problems by uttering such words, as their consequences could be regretted.
Allaah Knows best.
