Care of cats

Question:

I would like to ask about feeding cat with food that contained pig's meat by mistake is it a Haraam? What about animals eating can food containing that? By the way I read Quran for my cat and he listen very carefully.

Answer:

All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger. We ask Allaah to exalt his mention as well as that of his family and all his companions.

 

Some scholars have mentioned clearly that feeding a dog or a cat pork is forbidden. Imaam Ibn 'Aabideen, a Hanafi scholar  wrote in his book, 'selling meat, after slaughtering it, to be fed to a cat or a dog is permissible, contrary to feeding them pork which is forbidden.'

Therefore, benefiting from pork or feeding it to animals is forbidden.
