All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
It is known that it is permissible to combine Ghusl (ritual bath) for sexual defilement and Ghusl for Friday prayer in one Ghusl. Ibn Al-Munthir said: "Most of the scholars say: 'One Ghusl is enough for Friday and sexual impurity'." Ibn Qudaamah said: "If a person performs one Ghusl while having the intention for both Friday prayer and for sexual impurity, then it [one Ghusl] is enough." In this case, a person who performs Ghusl is not obliged to perform ablution after having performed Ghusl, because removing the major impurity encompasses removing the minor impurity and the intention for removing the major impurity is enough for the intention of removing the minor impurity because the latter is included within the major impurity. For more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 88636.
The scholars stated that every obligatory Ghusl, like the Ghusl for sexual impurity and menses suffices one from having to perform ablution, contrarily to performing a Ghusl which is only recommended. To conclude, if a person combines Ghusl for sexual impurity and Ghusl for the Friday prayer in one Ghusl, then the Ghusl for sexual impurity is enough, and one does not have to perform ablution.
The following two matters should be noted:
1- For Ghusl to be sufficient for ablution, one should not touch his private parts with his hand. He should wash his private parts first, and then pour water all over his body, because touching the private parts invalidates ablution. If something which invalidates ablution occurs, during the performance of Ghusl, then this nullifies the washing of the limbs (required in ablution).
2- The person performing Ghusl should adhere to the sequence of washing the limbs that should be washed in ablution when pouring water all over his body if the Ghusl is not obligatory, because following the sequence is one of the obligations of ablution, according to the correct opinion of the scholars .
