An individual Muslim is required to have general not detailed knowledge about faith

Her family wants her to stop listening to scholars

Competition in learning is not a sin
I have read a hadith which indicates that if someone gains knowledge in order to compete with someone than it is a sin. Studying in a textbook that contains a false religious statement
