assalam wa alykum there is a muslim group living in india who say that a)in surah imran ayat no.144/145 it is said that all prophets are dead (including Isa(AS)). b)in surah jumah ayat no. 3/4 it is said that our prophet(SAW) will come. how can be these people replied?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
It is not correct to say that our Prophet will come back at the end of times, and no scholar has ever said this.
Allaah Says (what means): {And [to] others of them who have not yet joined them. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. That is the bounty of Allaah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allaah is the possessor of great bounty.} [Quran 62:3-4]
The above verses from Chapter Al-Jumu’ah (Quran 62) do not mean that our Prophet will come back at the end of times. Some interpreters of the Quran stated that the verses refer to the Taabi’een (the generations which followed the generation of the companions), and it is a praise for those who will come after the Prophet and his companions and who will follow their guidance. Some other interpreters of the Quran stated that it refers to the believers until the Day of Judgment.
The verse in Chapter Al-Jumu’ah is like the saying of Allaah (which means): {And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhaajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Madeenah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Madeenah who helped and gave aid to the Muhaajireen) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him.}[Quran 9:100]
As regards ‘Eesa (Jesus) there is evidence that he is alive and that he will descend at the end of times as a just ruler, he is an exception to the general meaning of the Saying of Allaah (which means): {Muhammad is not but a messenger. [Other] messengers have passed on before him. So if he was to die or be killed, would you turn back on your heels [to unbelief]? And he who turns back on his heels will never harm Allaah at all; but Allaah will reward the grateful.} [Quran 3:144]
‘Eesa will die after that, and so, he also has his appointed time when he will die but this has not yet come. The verse 145 of Chapter 3 [Aal-‘Imraan] (which means) {And it is not [possible] for one to die except by permission of Allaah at a decree determined. And whoever desires the reward of this world- We will give him thereof; and whoever desires the reward of the Hereafter- We will give him thereof. And We will reward the grateful.} Is evidence that each person will die when his appointed time comes.
