All perfect praise be to Allah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
Allah Says (what means): {But they were scheming, and Allah was scheming. And Allah is the best of schemers.} [Quran 8:30]
The general meaning of the word Makr in Arabic language is deception (which is translated in the above verse as ‘scheme’), but it is ascribed to Allah in the context of perfection.
The quality of Makr, and other qualities of optional acts, are only mentioned, when describing Allah, in conjunction with or restricted to mean a good meaning, and to counter the same action when done by humans. In which case, it indicates that the who does the action is able to counter his enemy with the same act or more, he cannot be tricked and that it is not possible to deceive him.
Shaykh Ibn 'Uthaymeen said in his Fataawa: "If it is asked: How can Allah be described as scheming when the apparent meaning of it is something dispraised?
The answer is that scheming in the right circumstances may be something praiseworthy that points to the strength of the schemer, and that he is superior to and can overcome his enemy. Hence, Allah cannot be described as scheming in absolute terms; we cannot say 'Allah is a schemer.'” [End of quote]
We would like to point out two matters:
Firstly, a Muslim who is not well-versed in Islamic knowledge should beware of reading the misconceptions of enemies and engaging in dialogue with them, lest he gets convinced with one of their misconceptions, and thus become misled because of it.
Secondly, a person should consult the Muslim scholars who are well-versed in Islamic knowledge in order to understand the meaning of the texts of the Quran and Sunnah. Christians and others have no right to explain the Quran according to their whims and improper shallow understanding.
Instead of trying to undermine the Quran –and they are far away from achieving this goal– they should rather look objectively (without bias) to the contradictions and distortions that exist in the Bibles to find out how false the religion they believe in is. Also, let them look at the religion of Islam with insight to know that it is the right religion that should be followed.
For more benefit on Christianity and that it is a false religion, and the contradictions of the Gospels, please refer to Fataawa 8210, 10326, and 90449.
Also, for more benefit that Islam is the true religion, please refer to Fataawa 86091, 16595, 88906 and 173389.
Allah knows best.
