The meaning of Pharaoh dividing people into 'factions' [Quran 28:4]
Salaam Alaikum. I have a question about 28:4. It states: "Indeed, Pharaoh exalted himself in the land and made its people into factions, oppressing a sector among them, slaughtering their [newborn] sons and keeping their females alive. Asalamu Alaikum My question is in regards to 17:85 in the Qur'an. The ayah 'And they ask you about the Spirit. The objects of worship strive be 'nearest' in Quran 17:57
Salaam alaikum, dear shaikh in this verse ALLAH (Almighty) says: Those whom they invoke seek means of access to their Lord, [striving as to] which of them would be nearest, and they hope for His mercy and fear His punishment. What it means to 'pass by ill-speech with dignity' (Quran 25:72)
