Different questions about the battle of Banu Quraythah

We find in a Hadeeth that the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, set out for Hajj on the 1st of Dhul-Hijjah while in another Hadeeth we find that he set on the 25th of Dhul-Qa'da. Can you please explain?

We know there are Hadeeths that show that our Prophet, sallallaahu alayhi wa sallam, used to take a bath with his wives after ritual impurity. But I don’t understand the reason behind bathing with his wives. One answer to the question could be that same water could be used by both spouses for purifying purposes.
