It is narrated in a Qudsi Hadeeth that Allaah swore by His Majesty that He would not expose His slave to two states of fear or safety. What are these two states of fear and safety?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger. The Hadeeth in question was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurayrah by Ibn Hibbaan, by Al-Bayhaqi . In the Hadeeth in question, Allaah stated that anyone who fears and obeys Him in this worldly life will be saved from what he fears on The Day of Judgment; whereas anyone who feels secure and safe from the punishment of Allaah and disobeys Him will fear His severe torment on The Day of Judgment, since only the losers feel secure from the punishment and the torment of Allaah. Accordingly, the two states of fear are the slave’s fear of Allaah in this worldly life and the fear of torment on The Day of Judgment. The two states of safety are that of the worldly life and safety on The Day of Judgment. |
