Question
What is the ruling on a person who claims that they can summon angels by reciting the Quran and mentioning one of the Most Beautiful Names of Allaah?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and messenger.
No one can summon angels and whoever claims to be able to do this is a liar. However some people summon jinn who falsely claim that they are angels.
Dealing with Jinn is extremely dangerous and results in many evils. Indeed, we previously clarified the impermissibility of seeking the help of jinn, even if for a good cause. Refer in this regard to Fatwa 85875.
