Question
Assalamu Alikum, I wanted to know the date of birth and death of Khalifa Umar ibn Abdel-Aziz? JazakumAllahu kheirun.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
First of all, it should be mentioned that ‘Umar ibn Aldul ’Azeez 
is one of the great Muslim caliphs and one of the great scholars of Islam. He was born in Al-Madeenah, and it was said that he was born in Egypt when his father was a ruler over it [Egypt], and this was in 60 A.H. according to the most preponderant opinion of the historians.
He died in Damascus on Friday 20th of Rajab 101 A.H. according to the most correct narrations, after he was a caliphate for approximately a period of two years and a half, and he lived for 40 years.
