Question
Assalam Alaikum,my father and my uncle got school for while i was in my final year in primary school,i was said to bear another person name i was very small their wish was my command so i went since then up to today i have being bearing that person name my real name is Lukman Abdulazeez while i am made to bear Yusuf Mohammed, all my document bear Yusuf Mohammed,please what can i do as that name can not be erase from my document and if im to make a change of name Yusuf Mohammed can not be drop they will only allow me to add Lukman A.Azeez please and please what correction can i do and hope i have not commit any sin because all what i achieve right from the time they put me in secondary school with this name up to university i worked and labour for it for by my self the only thing is my uncle gave me another person admission form...Massalam Yusuf
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
If changing your name from “Luqman Abdulazeez” to “Yusuf Muhammad” does not lead to a prohibition like taking the name of another person or changing the name of your father and the like, then this is permissible as long as you are traced back to your father.
Since this name was authenticated in official documents, then it is permissible for you to leave the matter as it is.
