Question
Assalamualaikum
I hope u give me a correct instruction.my problem is ,after a short interval my wife is re-pregnant .her fist deliver cicerone .we have 1 aged baby.Doctor says that here feeding and there is a big chances cicerone to my wife delivery and doctor also says that it's danger here body before three year gap.Now she almost 1 month pregnant.we have the chance to abort?what we can do?
what is the Islamic fatwa to this question?.

Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
According to the preponderant opinion of the scholars 
it is forbidden to abort the fetus in all its stages. The resolution of the Senior Scholars Committee of Saudi Arabia reads: “It is not permissible to abort the pregnancy at its different stages unless there is a sound reason and within very restricted limits.”
This is the principle and it is not permissible to abort the fetus even before 40 days; for more benefit, please refer to Fataawa 83891 and 83890.
Therefore, it is not permissible to resort to abortion at this period for imaginary harms. However, if there is a sound reason for that or a need to repel an expected harm, then in this case, it is permissible to abort the fetus before 40 days in order to achieve this benefit or to repel this harm.
It is for this reason that the ending of the resolution of the Committee reads: “If the pregnancy is at its first stage, which is 40 days period, and aborting it will lead to a religious benefit or repelling harm, then it becomes permissible to abort it.”
To conclude, you should not satisfy yourself only with the opinion of one doctor; rather, you should consult other experienced and trustworthy doctors, and if they tell you that there is harm that cannot be repelled except by aborting the fetus, then it becomes permissible for you to resort to it.
