Fatwa CenterA Christian girl wants to marry a Muslim man against the will of her father
Question
I am chirstan gilr (Jenace) My father do not agree to my marriage to a muslim man becuase he wants me finish studies first I can not tell or ask any other male member of my family to act as my wali. Dowry was set up also and we announced it over Facebook plus my to my father i just said i will marry him if you no marry me, But he dont knw we did this nikkah if it is nikkah. I dont know your religion is so confusing. I want understand it please help m in between my conversiton to a muslim. My Boy friend/ husband (if its valid Nikkah) also write to you but NO ONE REPLIED CAN THE CHRUCH FATHER OR PADRE BE MY WALI in front of 2 muslim witness. IS THIS NIKKAH WALID????? Note he has not even touched me in any way He wants assurances do not want to commit Sin against God. PLEASE TELL US IS THIS VALID NIKKAH?? Regards, Jenace
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
If this marriage took place without the consent of your guardian, then it is a void marriage because the consent of the guardian is one of the conditions for the validity of a correct marriage; for more benefit on these conditions, please refer to Fatwa 83629.
Specifying the dowry and announcing the marriage on Face book does not make it a correct marriage. If both of you want to marry, it must be with the consent of your guardian. But if your guardian refuses to marry you off and a priest marries you off, then the marriage is valid.
Nonetheless, if we presume that you embrace Islam – and we ask Allaah to facilitate this for you – then it is not permissible for your father to marry you off. In which case, you should take the matter to a Muslim judge or whoever acts on his behalf in non-Muslim countries in order to marry you off; for more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 84315.
On this occasion, we call you to embrace Islam which is the true religion by which Allaah abrogated all other religions. For more benefit about Islam and the evidence that Islam is the religion of all the Prophets, please refer to Fataawa 81979, 85234 and 88906.
Also, for more benefit on the evidence that the Christianity of today is a false religion and that there are contradictions between the Gospels after being tempered with by people, please refer to Fatwa 85307.
