Question
asalamoualaikum, I am just in a dilemma whether to believe my relative or not cause she told me she dreamed her mum covered in poo from her leg to her neck. when she ask a imam from the mosque he told her that mum is doing shirk and I know her mum I don't believe she will do any harm to her children. Thank you in advance.
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
It is not permissible to accuse this mother for doing acts of Shirk [associating partners with Allaah] without evidence because in principle a Muslim is innocent [until he is proven guilty]. Allaah Says (what means): {O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin}[Quran 49:12] Moreover, it is not permissible to authoritatively interpret the dreams in the mentioned manner and such interpretation should not be taken into account.
In principle, a mother is affectionate with her children, so it is not permissible to believe that she harms her children unless the contrary is proven. For more benefit, refer to Fatwa 133010.
On the other hand, if a Muslim sees in a dream what he dislikes, then there are some etiquette in Islam that he should do. Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri 
narrated that the Prophet said: “If any of you sees a dream that he likes, then it is from Allaah. So, he should praise Allaah for it and narrate it to others, but if he sees something else (i.e. a bad dream that he dislikes), then it is from the devil, and he should seek refuge with Allaah from its evil and he should not inform anyone about it at all, for it will not cause him any harm.” [Al-Bukhari]
