Fatwa CenterHe loves a girl who committed Zina with another man
Question
Asalam Alikum Wr Wb. Dear Shaikh, i like a girl very much.she lost her mother in accident.she did sin of adultery with other guy and that boy is telling her to marry.she is close to me also i told her to repent and i feel restless i dont want to loose her i dont know . i love her. important thing is that when she told me about her sin i told her i will accept u but repent sincerely and i prayed istikhara and i was talking to that girl i dont want to loose her but sometimes my heart doesnt want to accept and sometimes i dont want to loose her bcoz of her sin but i make my heart understand may be its in our destiny i am confused actually i am emotionally attached to this girl. secondly her father doesnt want her to marry that boy whom she did sin bcoz her father is not aware of that sin but still he doesnt like that boy and this girl is not sure whether his father will agree for there marriage or not in that case girl is determined that she will not go against her father. kindly guide me what to do i am really confused i ask ALLAHs help most important thing is that i offer salah 5 times i always remember this girl and i remember punishment of adultery described in quran but i am worried about her hereafter i dont know shaikh why i am thinking about her more and more.on the other hand she has feelings for me and doesnt want to loose her boy friend as she thinks she did sin 20 times and will marry him bcoz of that sin. i told her u both need to repent but at the same time she is not sure whether her father will allow her marriage with that boy or not.i am confused kindly guide me with ALLAH grace what should i do i am restless and i pray for her in every prayer and i want her to be happy plz reply as soon as possible and give some medicine of quran and sunnah to me so that i will be feeling good
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad 
is His slave and Messenger.
If this girl sincerely repents to Allaah, becomes righteous, cuts her relationship with that young man and she agrees to marry you, then you may ask her guardian for her hand and marry her. It is confirmed that the Prophet said: “The best solution for those who love each other is marriage.” [Ibn Maajah]
Indeed, if you marry her and keep her chaste, it might be that you will be rewarded from Allaah for doing so.
However, we advise you to perform Istikhaarah prayer before marrying her as it is Allaah Who Knows the outcome of things. For more benefit on how to perform Istikhaarah, please refer to Fatwa 81434.
However, if she did not repent and did not cut her relationship with that young man, then you should not think about her and you should cut any relationship with her in order to be safe. In this case, your heart being attached to her is a disease which has a cure; for more benefit, please refer to Fatwa 84544.
Finally, it should be noted that if someone commits Zina (fornication or adultery), he/she should conceal himself/herself and not inform anyone about it as the Prophet said: “Whoever amongst you happens to commit any of these dirty sins, he/she should conceal himself/herself as Allaah has concealed his sin.” [Al-Haakim and Al-Bayhaqi - As-Suyooti graded it Saheeh (sound) and Al-‘Iraaqi graded it Hasan (good)]
