Will a Muslim woman who has not married in this life have a husband in Paradise?
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Him, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
Based on [our] induction [i.e., examination of relevant legal texts], it is almost certain that every woman in Paradise will have a husband. This is for several reasons:
1- Men there will be many and some of them will have more than one human wife. Abu Hurayrah relates that the Prophet mentioned that of the first group that enters Paradise, the men will have two wives who are so beautiful that the bone marrow of their legs may be seen from behind the flesh. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] An-Nawawi and others stressed that these two would be from the humans, not the Hoor (Houri). They will be two women who deserve to enter Paradise by the bounty of Allaah The Almighty and by virtue of their good deeds.
2- In some Hadeeths narrated by Muslim, it is mentioned that, in Paradise, every person, both male and female, will have a spouse. There is an explicit reference here, to the fact that these people will all have their own mates.
3- Women naturally desire marriage, just like men, and Allaah The Almighty Says with regard to Paradise (what means): {And therein is whatever the souls desire and [what] delights the eyes.} [Quran 43:71] There is no doubt that any normal woman there would want to have a partner she would enjoy looking at and with whom she would have intimate relations.
Allaah Knows best.
