Question
Will people in Paradise call each other using the same names as those in this life?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Before we answer this question, we would like to draw the attention of this questioner and all those who use our Fatwa center to the advice that they should ask about matters that will benefit them in the present life or in the Hereafter.
With regards to your question, it appears that people will indeed call each other on the Day of Judgment, as well as in Paradise and Hell, using names from this life.
