Assalaamu 'Aleikum Warahmatullaahi Wabarakatuhu, Years ago (as a child) i took a book from school here in the Netherlands (wich i think belongs to the liberary) without them knowing. I repented, but it seems i cant find the book, so i send them money with a letter. Did i right by giving the book back in money or should i buy this book in new? BarakAllaahoefeek
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.
If the book was new and another copy of it is obtainable, then you should provide the school with a new copy of it if you can; otherwise, its monetary value should be sent to the school; or if the school accepted the monetary value of the book (even if it is new and another copy is obtainable), then there is no harm in that.
Allaah Knows best.
