Question
How can I have a sound creed and adhere to the correct path?
Answer
All perfect praise be to Allaah, the Lord of the worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His Slave and Messenger.
Validity of belief and uprightness of behavior can be achieved only by adhering to the teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Added to this is living the methodology of the righteous predecessors of the Companions 
and their successors 
and rejecting any belief, saying or deed that would contradict this. Allaah The Almighty Says (what means):
· {And whoever opposes the Messenger after guidance has become clear to him and follows other than the way of the believers - We will give him what he has taken and drive him into Hell, and evil it is as a destination.} [Quran 4:115]
In order to achieve this, a Muslim should seek the help of trustworthy, knowledgeable scholars and keep righteous company so that they encourage him to do what is good and forbid him from doing what is evil.
