Before I converted to Islam at the age of 16 I became pregnant, I understand that the child has no ties with the father because he was born out of wedlock. I have kept my son away from him for almost 3 years and he's been trying to contact me since I cut him off. Is it haram to keep him from seeing his 'son' or am I doing right by denying visitation and having nothing to do with the biological father? To sum it up of the biological father wants a relationship am I forced to let him A Hope this reaches you all well Aus Salaamu alaikum
All perfect praise be to Allaah, The Lord of the Worlds. I testify that there is none worthy of worship except Allaah, and that Muhammad, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, is His slave and Messenger.
If this man is a Muslim and you are not yet married and he made repentance and became righteous, and he wants to marry, then in this case, it is acceptable to accept his proposal of marriage. Otherwise, you should look for another righteous Muslim man to marry you in order to keep yourself chaste and live under his protection and guardianship.
